Azul to increase flights during the season in response to demand

During the peak summer season, Azul, Brazil’s largest airline in number of daily flights and destinations served, will have 2,705 extra flights, of which 1,142 will be dedicated to Azul Viagens, the company’s tour operator.

The Northeast will be the most prominent, with 52% of the extra flights, a total of 1,419 to cities in the region, between December 15, 2023 and February 4, 2024, as reported by AEROIN.

«It is going to be an important operation and all this planning is done six months in advance, always analyzing historical data, as well as projections and trends in demand from our Customers, so that we can offer a wide network with several tourist destinations. In total, we will have 33 new markets for flights dedicated to Azul Viagens and 3 to Azul Linhas Aéreas», explains Vitor Silva, Azul’s General Director of Network and Strategic Planning.

The highlight of the frequency increase during the period will be between the cities of Campinas (SP) and Fortaleza (CE), which will have 174 extra flights during the High Season. In second place will be the route from Recife (PE) to João Pessoa (PB), with 172 extra flights and, in third place, from Campinas to Maceió (AL), with 112 extra flights.
