Iberia increases its seating capacity in Venezuela

As part of its expansion in Latin America for the winter season, Iberia is strengthening its operations in Venezuela, increasing frequencies and seat capacity on its services to Caracas. In addition, the Spanish airline is marketing the Premium Economy product on its flights to the Venezuelan capital.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, 149,876 passengers and 1,077 tons of cargo were mobilized in the period January – July 2023 between Madrid and Caracas. Passenger and cargo traffic increased by 169% and 72% respectively compared to 2022 levels.

Iberia’s schedule in Venezuela

As of October 29

  • Madrid – Caracas Flight IB 6673 MAD 11:55 – CCS 16:15 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Caracas – Madrid Flight IB 6674 CCS 18:15 – MAD 07:55+1 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Route details

  • Between January 10 and January 30, four of the five weekly flights will be operated by the Airbus A350-900, replacing the operation of the A330-200.
  • Between February 7 and February 14, two of the five weekly flights will be operated by the Airbus A350-900.
  • Iberia will be the only airline to offer flights with the Airbus A350 at Maiquetia Airport.

Between January and February 2023, Iberia will offer 12,360 seats between Madrid and Caracas, representing a 75% increase in capacity compared to 2022 levels. With this increase, the company surpasses pre-COVID-19 health crisis levels.

Iberia’s Airbus A350-900s seat 343 passengers in three classes (31 Business Class/24 Premium Economy/293 Economy) and the Airbus A330-200s seat 288 passengers in two classes (19 Business Class/269 Economy). Promotional fares are available starting at $462 each way.

The Latin American destinations Iberia will fly to with the Airbus A350 for the 2023/2024 winter season are: Bogota, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Lima, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Quito and San Jose, Costa Rica.
