On August 29, 2023, Ryanair, unveiled its plans to expand its operations in Amman. This move is cemented with a 5-year heavy maintenance deal with Joramco, a leading MRO provider headquartered in Jordan and an engineering subsidiary of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).
Enhanced Collaboration Details
This collaboration guarantees Ryanair an enhanced flexibility in deciding the location for its aircraft maintenance for the approaching season. Joramco, with its expansive 110,000sq metre facility in Amman, is slated to undertake 41 checks in the coming winter. This facility will be paramount in the heavy maintenance of Ryanair’s ever-growing fleet which is projected to reach 800 aircraft.
This includes the freshly ordered 300 Boeing MAX-10, anticipated to accommodate over 300 million passengers annually by 2034. It’s noteworthy that these modern aircrafts possess superior fuel efficiency, provide 21% additional seating capacity, consume 20% less fuel, and generate 50% less noise compared to B737-NGs.
Strategic Positioning
Ryanair, in its operations, combines both internal facilities and third-party suppliers for its heavy maintenance tasks. The current deal with Joramco complements Ryanair’s existing infrastructure, ensuring all maintenance needs are aptly met in the years to come.
