Aerolíneas Argentinas to fly between Mar del Plata and Montevideo

Aerolíneas Argentinas announced a new route connecting the cities of Montevideo, Uruguay, and Mar del Plata, Argentina, with two weekly services during the summer season.

This route, never before operated by the company, promises to boost tourism potential in the region. Flights will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays with its fleet of 96-seat Embraer E190s, taking off from the Uruguayan capital at 11:00 and 10:20 respectively, with return flights from the Argentine city scheduled at 18:10 and 17:20.

The new flight, which will be operational between January 3rd and March 3rd, adds to the seasonal routes that Mar del Plata receives during the summer, including connections with Rosario and Tucumán.

Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, said that «with these flights, we are boosting Mar del Plata’s receptive profile and its international connectivity. We have focused strongly on this strategy, which has given us great results, particularly with the direct flights from Brazil. Together with flights from Córdoba, Mendoza, Rosario, Tucumán, and a significant increase in frequencies from Buenos Aires, we are projecting a record summer for the city».

Aerolíneas Argentinas operates 21 weekly flights to Mar del Plata from Buenos Aires, which will increase to 28 weekly flights in October. In addition, it connects with Cordoba and Bahia Blanca three times a week, and with Mendoza twice a week. In addition, during the high summer season, there are flights to Tucumán and Rosario.
