Etihad Cargo increases its winter belly cargo capacity

Etihad Cargo will provide its customers and partners with more belly cargo capacity across the airline’s global network. The carrier has scheduled new routes and increased frequencies starting September 2023.

For its winter schedule, the company will have 29 weekly passenger flights to new destinations and will have the increase of 90 flights to existing routes, Etihad Cargo will provide its customers and partners with more bellyhold cargo capacity across the airline’s global network.

Etihad Cargo’s customers and partners will be able to move more cargo on board passenger aircraft, complementing scheduled cargo operations. The company boosts its cargo capacity in Europe with two new destinations to Copenhagen and Dusseldorf. The service to Munich will have three additional weekly flights bringing the number of flights to Germany to 28 per week, including four dedicated cargo services to Frankfurt.

Due to strong demand, service to Lisbon will be available during the winter schedule. Additional cargo capacity will also be added on key routes by increasing passenger flight frequencies, including four additional flights to Rome, increasing service to 11 flights per week. Madrid and Milan will both have three extra flights, bringing their schedule to 10 flights per week.

In the Asian market, the airline is introducing additional cargo capacity through new routes and increased frequencies. The airline will operate a second destination in Japan to Osaka. In mainland China it will also add three flights to Beijing and four to Shanghai.

To meet strong cargo demand in the Indian market, Etihad Cargo will provide more bellyhold capacity through new routes to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, both operating daily flights. Passenger service to Chennai will increase to 21 weekly flights, which will be complemented by two weekly dedicated cargo flights. The route to Kochi will have eight weekly flights.

Etihad Cargo will also provide more additional belly cargo capacity in key Asian markets with two new flights to Islamabad, seven more flights to the Maldives, five additional flights to Cairo and seven more flights to Phuket per week, seven direct flights to Colombo per week will also be introduced.

The airline’s growing passenger network, combined with Etihad Cargo’s scheduled and charter services, will increase cargo capacity in Europe, Asia and North America, strengthening links between Abu Dhabi and key global markets and ensuring Etihad Cargo can meet the growing demand for cargo capacity,” said Mohammad Al Bulooki, Etihad Airways’ Chief Operating Officer.

As part of its growth and expansion plans, Etihad Cargo announced that it will schedule cargo services to Ezhou Huahu Airport, becoming the first international airline to operate services to China’s first professional cargo airport. The company will continue to explore new partnerships and opportunities to meet the capacity needs of its partners and customers.
