On September 20, Porter Airlines began non-stop flights between Toronto-Pearson and Victoria, British Columbia. This new service will strengthen the airline’s transcontinental operations, reinforcing its presence on Canada’s west coast. In early September, the airline inaugurated flights to Winnipeg and St. John’s.
Flight PD 441 was operated in an Embraer registered C-GKQO. The aircraft departed Lester Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 11:35 local time and arrived at Victoria Airport (YYJ) at 13:13, after 4 hours and 38 minutes.
Porter Airlines will offer 1,848 weekly seats between Toronto-Pearson and Victoria, the airline will compete in this market with Swoop, Air Canada and Flair Airlines. The carrier’s network of Canada’s west coast destinations also includes service to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg.

The route is operated by Embraer E195-E2 aircraft seating 132 passengers in a single configuration and promotional fares are available from $138 roundtrip. Passengers arriving from Victoria can also connect to other East Coast destinations such as Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and St. John’s.
With the addition of the Embraer E195-E2 to the fleet, Porter Airlines has expanded significantly in the domestic market and continues to grow steadily at its Toronto-Pearson hub by adding new destinations and routes. Currently, the airline has 9 routes and a supply of more than 220,000 seats per month to and from Toronto-Pearson.
In August of this year, Porter made its first international expansion with Embraer aircraft with the launch of five new routes to Florida, which will strengthen the airline’s offering of vacation destinations. The cities to be added to Porter’s network include Miami, Orlando-International, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Fort Myers.
