WestJet expands its cross-border offering for the 2023-2024 winter season with a nonstop connection between Victoria and Las Vegas. This service boosts Western Canadian connectivity through an increased offering of sun and leisure destinations.

The leisure airline’s last operation on this route was in January 2017. Las Vegas is WestJet’s fourth international destination and only service to the United States at Victoria Airport (YYJ). The airline’s offerings also include flights to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and San Jose del Cabo and the cabotage market has service to Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna and Vancouver.

WestJet is proud to add our new route to our winter schedule, and strengthen cross-border connectivity from Victoria to Las Vegas. As we continue to offer passengers across Canada even more affordable and accessible opportunities to escape the cold and find sunshine this winter, Victoria is an important part of our growth plan in Western Canada,” said John Weatherill, WestJet’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Las Vegas is one of the most in-demand destinations for Canadians during the holiday season. To meet the strong passenger demand, WestJet this winter will be scheduling 9 routes and a supply of nearly 20,000 seats per week between Canada and Harry Reid International Airport.

This will provide residents of Greater Victoria and Vancouver Island with convenient non-stop service to this popular destination. It also demonstrates YYJ’s continued efforts to recover in the wake of the pandemic and reflects a positive sign of confidence in Victoria’s marker. We appreciate WestJet’s continued support of our region and wish them every success with this new route,” said Elizabeth M. Brown, President and CEO of the Victoria Airport Authority.
