AEGEAN has unveiled its flight schedule for the 2023/2024 winter season with 18 new routes to 14 countries. It also expands its operations in the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans and Europe.

Athens customers can now access new destinations such as Dubai, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh, Innsbruck, Bratislava, Baku, Chisinau, as well as a new route between Thessaloniki and Cairo.

The Greek airline will also extend the services of several summer routes from Athens to Bristol and Birmingham, and from Thessaloniki to Malaga, Bilbao, Tallinn, Tunis and Barcelona, while adding a second daily flight between Athens and Frankfurt. The new winter schedule offers a range of popular destinations for the «non-summer» period (such as Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Innsbruck), following the success of the service to Marrakech.

The company will extend scheduled flights to/from Rhodes, Heraklion and Kalamata until November and will have a restart in March 2024. AEGEAN will be operating flights in Rhodes, within the framework of a special schedule implemented in cooperation with foreign tour operators, providing 35,000 available seats, to 22 destinations in 8 countries, between October – December 2023 and February – May 2024.

AEGEAN’s new winter schedule reflects the increase in passenger traffic over the last nine months. The Greek airline moved more than 11.9 million passengers between January – September 2023, this represents an increase of 30% compared to the same period in 2022.

The company’s financial results in the third quarter of the year were positive, as it mobilized 5.3 million passengers with a balanced growth of both domestic passenger traffic by 17% and international passenger traffic by 18%.

In the January-September 2023 period, passenger traffic on AEGEAN’s international network to and from Athens «Eleftherios Venizelos» airport increased by 38%, while in the same period the increase in international passenger traffic at Thessaloniki «Makedonia» airport exceeded 45% compared to 2022.
