Israel sells two optronic intelligence gathering satellites to Azerbaijan

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azercosmos, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement for the sale of two state-of-the-art multispectral electro-optical satellites from IAI, with native resolution greater than 0.5 meters, long lifetime and high imaging performance.

Under the terms of the agreement, IAI will provide Azercosmos with two satellites under the Azersky -2 program, technology and expertise for the construction and operation of the satellites.

IAI expects the transaction to bring exciting developments in the field of satellite technology, opening up new exploration opportunities for both companies. The agreement includes a long-term business partnership between IAI and Azercosmos, reflected in the establishment of an ecosystem of innovation, entrepreneurship, academia and research in the space field in Azerbaijan over the years.

IAI and Azercosmos are committed to the successful implementation of the Azersky-2 program, and look forward to mutually beneficial cooperation in future space programs.
