Through this partnership, Airbus will train HAL to meet the growing demand for MRO services in the country, especially for the A320 family of aircraft. This Airbus model, the best-selling commercial aircraft in history, plays a central role in democratizing air transport on the Indian subcontinent. HAL’s division in Nashik boasts three hangars and skilled manpower derived from its activities in the defense industry.

Saket Chaturvedi, CEO of HAL, expressed the company’s vision. «HAL aims to establish an integrated MRO center in the country, providing effective solutions to airlines,» stated the executive. Meanwhile, Rémi Maillard, President and CEO of Airbus India and South Asia, affirmed Airbus’s commitment to fostering the aviation ecosystem in India. He emphasized, «The development of a robust MRO infrastructure is a key element. A domestic infrastructure not only simplifies airline operations but also aligns with the government’s goal of making India a global aviation hub. We believe that HAL, with its deep experience in the aerospace industry, is well-positioned to catalyze the growth of this sector.»

As part of the agreement, Airbus will provide HAL with the necessary tools to work on the A320. It will also offer specialized consulting services. Additionally, HAL will have access to AirbusWorld, the manufacturer’s digital platform that provides support, technical data, and training.
