Iberia Express presents its flight schedule for the upcoming winter season 2023/2024, in which its capacity grows by 10% compared to 2022.

The company will strengthen the connection between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands, as well as bet on growth on routes to Ibiza. It has also scheduled a large number of international destinations, among which Marrakech, Morocco; Cairo, Egypt; Dublin, Ireland; Manchester, United Kingdom; and Naples, Italy stand out.

Isabel Rodríguez, commercial director of Iberia Express, pointed out that “this winter we are going to continue growing and will deploy a historic capacity. In these more than 10 years of Iberia Express, it has been demonstrated that our hybrid model, a pioneer in the airline sector, is very efficient to compete with low-cost carriers on point-to-point routes and effective in feeding Iberia’s long-haul network, offering connecting flights and a Business service highly valued by our customers.”

Domestic Market

The Canary Islands archipelago represents 40% of the offer launched by Iberia Express. They will offer 1.4 million seats to the cities where the airline operates in the islands, which is a 12% increase in seats compared to 2022.

The connection between Madrid and the Canary Islands will have 320 weekly flights, with a special focus on the routes between the Spanish capital and Gran Canaria, with eight daily flights, and Tenerife, with nine flights a day. Iberia will increase to three daily flights the connection with Lanzarote, while to Fuerteventura it will offer two daily flights, and to La Palma between one and two daily flights.

On the other hand, the Balearic Islands will be another strategic market for the airline. During this winter, more than 560,000 seats will be offered, a 10% increase compared to 2022. The focus will be on the cities of Mallorca and Ibiza, which will have six and four weekly flights, respectively.

International Market

During the winter of 2023/2024, Iberia Express will offer 13 international routes as part of its strategy to diversify its capacity into new markets. This increase in the international market exceeds the 2022 offer by 25%.

The launch of the Madrid-Marrakech and Madrid-Cairo routes is part of the strategy that Iberia Express has planned to increase its international presence. The connection with Marrakech started last October 29 with two daily flights, using Airbus A320 aircraft. The route to Cairo began operating on October 30, with three weekly flights operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft.

In Europe, this winter the biggest growths for Iberia Express will correspond to Lyon, where between 17 and 18 weekly flights have been scheduled; Naples, with up to 12 weekly flights; Dublin, which reaches an average of nine weekly flights, that is, between one and two daily flights; and it increases a weekly frequency with Manchester, up to four round-trip weekly flights.
