Porter Airlines exercised purchase rights for 25 Embraer E195-E2 passenger jets. This addition increases its existing fleet of 50 and brings the total to 75 units ordered from the Brazilian manufacturer’s narrowbody, underscoring Porter’s growing influence in North American aviation.

The deal, valued at approximately 2.1 billion dollars, not only strengthens Porter’s fleet but also its service footprint. With these planes, Porter aims to enhance its service across North America, including new destinations like Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, along with planned expansions to Mexico and the Caribbean.

Enhanced Experience for Passengers

Michael Deluce, President and CEO of Porter Airlines, highlights the performance and passenger satisfaction of the E195-E2, citing its fuel efficiency and comfort for passengers, supported by the configuration of 132 seats, with different options for spacing between seats.

“At Porter, we entered a new era when we began operating the E195-E2 earlier this year. The jet is exceeding our expectations, especially in terms of fuel consumption, and providing an incredible level of customer satisfaction to our passengers with a smooth and comfortable journey.”

“These 25 additional orders allow us to continue extending our reach across North America, with more new and exciting destinations,” he added.

Embraer’s President and CEO, Arjan Meijer, praised Porter Airlines for its innovative approach in the North American market. Meijer recognizes Porter’s selection of the E2 jet as a testament to its superior comfort and efficiency, further consolidating the E195-E2’s status as a leading single-aisle aircraft.

With Porter’s cumulative orders totaling 75, and 25 purchase rights remaining, this move signals a robust growth trajectory and a commitment to improving regional air transportation in North America.
