Airlines from Chile and Peru have implemented a contingency plan for Taylor Swift fans affected by the rescheduling of the concert originally scheduled for Friday, November 10, due to adverse weather conditions. The Chilean airline allows flight rescheduling without penalties or fare differences.
Taylor Swift has stirred a massive fan movement around her performances at the Estadio Más Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The singer has sold out tickets for the three scheduled dates on Thursday, November 9, Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11. Fans from across South America traveled to the Argentine capital to enjoy the moment’s star.
Sky Airline
The concert originally planned for Friday, November 10, was postponed to Sunday, November 12, due to a strong storm affecting the city of Buenos Aires. Sky Airline did not overlook this situation and launched a contingency plan for fans with airline tickets to change their return date at no cost.
Passengers can modify their flight date and choose a new one until November 17, departing from Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) or Jorge Newbery International Airport (AEP).
To access the protection plan, customers must exclusively communicate through the online chat on the airline’s website, where they will be asked for an image of the concert ticket dated November 10.
Sky Airline has added 8 additional flights between Santiago de Chile and Buenos Aires, distributed between November 8 and 13. Additionally, the airline has undertaken various initiatives to interact with the thousands of swifties who have traveled to Buenos Aires, from a welcome with a Taylor Swift impersonator to in-flight giveaways.
JetSMART and LATAM Airlines
Hours after Sky Airline’s announcement, JetSMART and LATAM Airlines joined to offer assistance to passengers who traveled to Buenos Aires for Taylor Swift’s concert.
Both airlines posted on their social media the contingency plan they will provide to their customers. Like Sky Airline, passengers with return flights on November 11 and 12 can reschedule their trip at no cost. Flights can be rescheduled until November 17.
It remains to be seen whether any other airline will also relax their rescheduling policies for the swifties.
