Porter Airlines and Alaska Airlines have entered into an interline agreement, a move that is set to expand flight options for passengers traveling in North America. This partnership combines Porter’s established presence in Eastern Canada with Alaska’s network on the U.S. West Coast.
Effective immediately, customers can book flights that include segments operated by both airlines through flyporter.com or third-party travel agencies. This agreement enables more seamless travel itineraries for passengers traversing the Canadian and U.S. markets.
The partnership also extends to loyalty programs. Starting in January, Alaska’s Mileage Plan members can earn points on Porter flights booked through Alaska Airlines. The collaboration will evolve in 2024, allowing members of both VIPorter and Mileage Plan to earn miles irrespective of the booking platform. Further benefits, including enhanced mileage redemption options for members of both loyalty programs, are anticipated next year.
“This partnership with Alaska Airlines is a significant win for passengers looking for more choice and better service when flying within Canada and the United States,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Porter Airlines. “Alaska and Porter emphasize passenger service excellence on each and every flight. We’re excited about what this means for passengers across North America.”

“Porter Airlines opens new opportunities for our guests to travel to Canada in style,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of loyalty, alliances and sales at Alaska Airlines. “We’re thrilled to partner with a vibrant and growing airline, and eager for our flyers to enjoy the refined experience that Porter offers, including top-notch inflight service and terrific onboard amenities.”
In January, Porter will initiate flights connecting Toronto Pearson with California, providing direct access to Alaska Airlines hubs in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Initially, this will enable passengers to reach 18 western U.S. markets, including Portland, San Diego, Seattle, and Phoenix, via Alaska Airlines. Connections through shared Canadian airports are expected to be available in early 2024.
Porter Airlines, based in Toronto, operates a fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, serving a network within North America. Alaska Airlines, with a fleet of over 300 aircraft, covers more than 120 destinations across North America and Central America.
