Avolon, the irish-based corporation that grew to become one of the global top leasing companies, has inked a definitive agreement for 100 A321neo aircraft, elevating its total orders for the A321neo to 190 units. This deal cements Avolon’s position in securing deliveries for the world’s favored single-aisle family.
“This order strengthens our delivery pipeline and reflects our confidence in the long-term growth outlook for aviation,” said Andy Cronin, CEO of Avolon. He added, “With now 292 A320neo family aircraft on order, we are well-positioned to support our clients’ fleet expansion and renewal strategies well into the next decade.” Cronin highlighted the strength of Avolon’s balance sheet and its swift transaction execution capabilities.
A Testament to the A321neo’s Versatility
Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International at Airbus, remarked, “This investment in the A321neo signifies Avolon’s commitment to providing its customers with the most versatile and efficient single-aisle aircraft. It also underscores the growing global demand for such aircraft.”
With this latest agreement, Avolon’s direct orders from Airbus total 632 aircraft, encompassing the A320, A330, and A350 families. This includes the recent order of 20 A330neo aircraft, tapping into the rising global demand for widebody aircraft.
The A321neo, the largest in Airbus’ A320neo Family, makes a difference in the narrowbody market with its range and performance figures. Its LR and soon-to-be-certified XLR variants provide carriers long-haul capabilities with a reduced cost, and its spacious cabin -the «Airspace» concept- is a benchmark in the single-aisle market. Globally, the A321neo has garnered more than 5,600 orders from over 100 customers.
