Starting from January 1, 2024, Emirates will resume operations between Dubai and Barcelona using its flagship aircraft: the Airbus A380, the largest passenger aircraft in the world.
As can be seen in the airline’s reservation system, the flight that will replace the 777s will be EK185, departing from Dubai daily at 8:15 AM and arriving in Barcelona at 12:50 PM. The reverse flight will be EK188, taking off from Barcelona at 8:25 PM and arriving in Dubai at 5:55 AM the following day (all times are local).
The reintroduction of the A380 between Dubai and Barcelona would be temporary, as the last scheduled flight with this aircraft is on March 29.

Nevertheless, it is still positive news that Emirates is increasing capacity in Barcelona, anticipating that 2024 will be the year when the pandemic finally becomes just a bad memory for global traffic levels.
The Dubai-based airline debuted the A380 in Barcelona in February 2014 and maintained its operation until March 2020, when it suspended its operations due to the restrictions on the movement of people imposed by governments to contain the health crisis.
In Madrid, Emirates operates a daily flight from Dubai with the A380.
