Westjet starts flights to Iceland and resumes transatlantic services from eastern Canada

Westjet unveils its schedule for the 2024 summer season with the start of a new service to Iceland and the resumption of transatlantic services from Eastern Canada. In addition to the Calgary schedule there will be an increased presence in Japan and major European leisure cities.

New service to Iceland

A new non-stop flight between Calgary and Reykjavik begins May 15, strengthening the interline partnership with Icenladir.

Schedule between Calgary and Reykjavik

  • Calgary – Reykjavik Flight WS038 YYC 19:55 – 08:25+1 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
  • Reykjavik – Calgary Flight WS039 KEF 09:45 . YYC 10:45 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.

Services will be operated on Boeing 737.8 aircraft with a seating capacity of 174 (12 Business Class/162 Economy).

Restoration of transatlantic services from Eastern Canada

After a four-year suspension, WestJet resumes transatlantic operations from Eastern Canada to the UK and Ireland on Boeing 737-8s, adding more than 7,308 additional seats to Europe.

Halifax

  • Dublin starts 19 June 2024 with four flights a week
  • Edinburgh starts on 20 June 2024 with three weekly flights.
  • London-Gatwick on 26 April 2024 with four flights a week.

St. John’s

  • London-Gatwick starts on 2 May 2024.

Toronto-Pearson

  • Dublin commences on 1 March 2024 with daily flights.
  • Edinburgh starts on 5 May 2024 with daily flights.
