Aeromexico will extend the grounding its Boeing 737-9 fleet until inspections are defined

Aeromexico has confirmed that it will extend the grounding of its 19 Boeing 737-9 until proper inspection procedures are arranged and distributed by the FAA and Boeing. 

«Following the decisions of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), our 19 Boeing 737 MAX-9 aircraft will remain grounded until the FAA and the manufacturer define the necessary inspections for their return to Service.»

The Mexican carrier states that is «very sorry» for the inconvenience caused to some customers by this «fortuitous event beyond our control». They will continue to «work hard» to mitigate the effects on customers, providing them with all possible assistance.

The company has implemented the following measures:
1. A flexibility policy consisting of flight re-arrangements with no charge for trip changes.
2. Personalized notifications to re-accommodate customers who have requested it using the rest of our fleet of 134 aircraft.

«For Aeromexico, the safety of our customers and employees is and will continue to be our highest priority. We work with the authorities and the manufacturer to ensure that the return of these aircraft is reliable and under the highest safety standards.»
