Aeroméxico announced the resumption of its flights to Seoul (ICN), South Korea, starting on August 1 after a two-year hiatus. Aeromexico will be the only company connecting Latin America with Korea.
In 2022, Aeroméxico suspended the route due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which led to airspace restrictions over Russia. The Mexico-Korea route involves flying over Russian territory, and the restriction forces extended flight schedules and crew services.
Flights will depart from Mexico City, with a stopover at Monterrey International Airport. From Seoul, the route will be non-stop to Mexico City. More than 12,000 seats will be available per month and tickets are currently on sale through Aeromexico’s official channels.
This will be the airline’s second destination in Asia after resuming non-stop operations to Tokyo in March 2023.
