Embraer and CAE have inaugurated the first E-Jets E2 full flight simulator (FFS) in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The E-Jets E2 training is the latest program offered by the joint venture Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS).

The E2 training program will include the Competency-Based Training Assessment (CBTA) software from CAE, interactive classroom instruction with the virtual simulator CAE Simfinity (VSIM), and immersive practical training on a new state-of-the-art FFS from the CAE 7000XR series.

The FFS is located at the Singapore-CAE Flight Training Center, near Changi Airport (SIN), and will provide support to E2 operators in the region. The inauguration of the new simulator was attended by Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Alvin Tan.

Scoot Airlines pilots began their training for the E190-E2 service entry at the end of this year. During the training period, crews will experience all aspects of flight on CAE’s latest generation FFS and practice multiple scenarios to enhance their skills and preparation before the aircraft’s first revenue flights.

Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, expressed: “We celebrate the success of the E2 simulator operations and the extensive pilot training program and thank all our partners and employees who have been involved in this process.”

“This is part of Embraer’s commitment to growing our infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific and contributing to the aviation growth story in the region. Together with CAE, we maintain our commitment to providing high-quality training to our customers and their pilots”, Naufel added.

Michel Azar-Hmouda, President of CAE’s Civil Aviation Training Division, said: “The start of training and the official inauguration of the first state-of-the-art E2 full flight simulator in the Asia-Pacific region is a significant milestone in the growth and success of Embraer-CAE Flight Training.”

“Technology is at the heart of the new E2 program, with CAE’s VSIM, CBTA course software, and the latest generation FFS preparing pilots for the safe entry into service and operation of the E2 in the APAC region”, he added.

VSIM Tool

As a complement to the E2 full flight simulator, classroom sessions include interactive training with a touchscreen, accelerating learning.

VSIM is a powerful familiarization and practice tool for pilot training, providing access to all aircraft systems, significantly enhancing typical commercial pilot training.

VSIM can be used to simulate various system functions by an instructor as a classroom and information tool, as well as by pilots for familiarization and individualized training.
