Aerosan, the air freight logistics company of SAAM, announced its recent partnership with Avianca Cargo, under which it will serve as its cargo handling provider at the Santiago de Chile airport.
This new venture is expected to significantly increase the tons handled annually between imports and exports, with a particular focus on the salmon and fruit industry.
José Luis Rodríguez, General Manager of Aerosan, expressed his enthusiasm for this alliance, stating that «these new operations will significantly increase the tons per year -between import and export- and will have a special focus on the salmon and fruit industry«. This service will cover both cargo and passenger flights, focusing mainly on the mobilization of Chilean salmon for export and the import of various products.

Rodríguez also highlighted Aerosan’s capabilities in handling this type of cargo, mentioning that «our collaborators have specialized in the handling of this type of cargo and we have three cold rooms with the latest technology, which includes access controls, surveillance, certified scales, and pre-inspection zones for the cargo, especially designed for the handling of food and pharmaceutical products«.
With more than 40 years of experience in the sector, Aerosan positions itself as a leader in airport services, serving airlines, importers, and exporters in Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador through eight airports.
The company handles more than 500,000 tons of cargo annually and attends to more than 7,000 flights, with infrastructure that includes more than 33,000 m2 of warehouses, ensuring efficient and safe handling of the transported cargo.
