British Airways expands route network in Southeast Asia

British Airways is expanding its network in Southeast Asia by resuming services to Malaysia and Thailand for the 2024/2025 winter season. In February and March 2020, the airline suspended operations in both regions due to the pandemic crisis.

Malaysia flight schedule

The service resumes on November 10, 2024 operating daily on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in an 8-seat First Class, 42 Club World, 39 World Traveller Plus, and 127 World Traveller configuration. British Airways will be the second airline to operate between Malaysia and the UK, after Malaysia Airlines.

  • London Heathrow – Kuala Lumpur Flight BA 033 LHR 20:45 – KUL 17:30+1 daily flights.
  • Kuala Lumpur – London Heathrow Flight BA 034 KUL 23:15 – LHR 05:20+1 daily flights.

Flight schedule to Thailand

The route will commence on October 28, 2024, will be the airline’s only service between Gatwick and Southeast Asia. The route will operate three times weekly on Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with a 32-seat Club World, 48-seat World Traveller Plus and 252-seat World Traveller configuration. British Airways will compete in this market with Thai Airways and TUI Airways, which also offer flights between Thailand and the UK.

  • London Gatwick – Bangkok Flight BA 2230 LGW 21:00 – BKK 15:55+1 Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • Bangkok – London Gatwick Flight BA 2231 BKK 22:55 – LGW 05:30+1 Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
