LATAM Airlines is advancing in the process of installing the necessary equipment to offer Wi-Fi on board its domestic flights in Chile.

According to statements from the CEO of LATAM Airlines, Roberto Alvo, on his LinkedIn account, currently 30% of the fleet of aircraft destined for the Chilean subsidiary of the group already has internet connection on domestic flights.

“We are increasingly providing more connectivity to our passengers. Not only because LATAM connects the region with the world, but also because we have equipped our short-haul aircraft with satellite antennas to offer Wi-Fi on board,” stated Alvo.

While the installation of Wi-Fi antennas on Chilean planes continues, passengers of the airline can continue to enjoy the free messaging service and streaming offerings.

It is important to highlight that the onboard internet service is already available on 100% of LATAM Brazil’s domestic flights. Similarly, in the Colombian subsidiary, this service reaches 60% of narrow-body aircraft.

Once the installation of the equipment for the Chilean fleet is completed, LATAM Pass members will have access to free messaging, just like in LATAM Brazil.
