Malaysia Airlines has signed a partnership with soccer club Manchester United that will leverage co-branded marketing initiatives to boost brand recognition among a global audience, providing premium services and immersive experiences associated with both brands,
The airline will also strengthen its network with three new routes from its central hub in Kuala Lumpur. The airline will start daily flights to Male, Maldives, from August 1, a daily operation to Da Nang, Vietnam, from September 24, and five weekly flights to Chiang Mai, Thailand, from August 15, 2024.
These new services bring to 16 the number of destinations the airline operates in Southeast Asia, boosting its presence in key markets. As a member of Oneworld, Malaysia Airlines provides connectivity to more than 900 destinations in 170 territories worldwide.
In addition, the airline has introduced new seats for its Airbus A330-900neo Business Class and Economy cabins as part of its fleet modernization plan, with the first aircraft scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2024.
Malaysia Airlines plans to incorporate Collins Aerospace Super Diamond seats in Business Class (the same product as British Airways and Etihad Airways; this seat offers sliding doors and a wireless charging port; the airline will become the first to introduce Elevation seats on Airbus A330 aircraft.
Recaaro CL3810 seats will be introduced in Economy, which features an ergonomic design and enhanced support, along with details such as coat hooks, cup holders,s and a spacious storage compartment. Malaysia Airlines’ A3330neo will have 297 seats, including 28 Business Class and 269 Economy seats.
