Air Transat and Porter Airlines have launched the first stage of their partnership with the signing of a cooperation agreement. Customers of both airlines will have access to a larger number of combined destinations offered by both companies.
With the signing of this agreement, Air Transat offers a wide range of destinations operated by Porter throughout Canada and in certain U.S. cities, including Boston, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Tampa, and Washington, through its website.
Meanwhile, Porter Airlines offers non-stop flights operated by Air Transat to Europe from Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Montreal-Trudeau (YUL), and Québec City (YQB), as well as connecting flights to Europe from any point in Canada.
Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer of Transat, said: «Our alliance is enhancing the travel experience by seamlessly integrating our services in North America and Latin America, as well as in Europe and North Africa.»
«Leveraging the strengths of our highly complementary networks, we are committed to offering more options to Canadians with high-quality service,» he added.
Since June 5, both companies have been offering these new connections to their customers, available for travel starting June 13, 2024. The new travel options will be gradually rolled out in the coming weeks.
Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Porter Airlines, stated that «Porter’s growing presence in North America fits perfectly with Air Transat’s international routes.»
«We are able to operate independently but in collaboration to offer passengers more options when booking their trips, whether for individual flights or itineraries requiring connections with both airlines,» Eldebs added.
