Aerolíneas Argentinas and SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System) have signed an interline agreement that has been effective since this month, allowing South American passengers to expand their connection possibilities to destinations in Northern Europe.
Thus, those flying with Aerolíneas Argentinas to Rome can connect with SAS flights to Copenhagen and Stockholm, while in the reverse direction, passengers from Denmark and Sweden can continue to Argentina with Aerolíneas.
«With a single ticket, travelers can complete their entire itinerary without complications, from check-in at the origin airport to their final destination, thanks to our efficient through check-in system,» Aerolíneas Argentinas stated in a press release.
«In case of connection losses attributable to any of the airlines involved in the ticket’s itinerary, passenger relocation is guaranteed, ensuring they reach their final destination without issues,» they added.
Currently, Aerolíneas Argentinas operates six weekly flights between Buenos Aires and Rome using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, providing 1,632 seats per week in each direction.
SAS, on the other hand, has a daily flight from Stockholm to Rome with a mix of A320 and A320neo aircraft, and eleven weekly flights from Copenhagen with A320neo and Embraer E195 aircraft. This represents a total offer of 3,146 seats per week in each direction.
The airline will join the SkyTeam alliance (the same as Aerolíneas Argentinas) next September, following the acquisition of 20% of its shares by the Air France-KLM group last October.
