On the evening of 15 July, for reasons under investigation, an A-4AR Fightinghawk fighter crashed during a night flight training exercise at Villa Reynolds, San Luis, headquarters of the IV Air Brigade. The aged A-4AR fleet is set to be replaced by the recently acquired Danish SABCA F-16 A/Bs, and some pilots currently commissioned to the IV Air Brigade will transition to the multirole fighters. Sources indicate that the aircraft involved in the accident is a single-seater A-4R (twin-seaters are named OA-4AR), with registration C-926.

    This is a developing story.
