Avianca and Aerolíneas Argentinas Swap Liveries to Celebrate Copa America

On the eve of the final of the Copa America where the national football teams of Argentina and Colombia will face each other, the main airlines of each country jointly carried out an action on social media to promote the spirit of camaraderie in a sport that often sees outbreaks of violence.

As Aerolíneas Argentinas and Avianca are official sponsors of their respective national football teams, under the slogan “exchanging jerseys is recognizing the greatness of the rival,” they shared images on their social media with their planes’ liveries displaying the tail colors of the other company.

“This action reaffirms the commitment made by both companies in the pursuit of commercial, technical, and operational collaboration,” stated a press release from Aerolíneas Argentinas. Last year the state-owned company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Abra Group, the holding company that includes Avianca and GOL, to advance a strategic cooperation agreement that would deepen code-sharing, technology exchange, and frequent flyer and cargo programs.
