Avianca to Operate Daily Flights Between Bogotá and Chicago

Avianca launched the sale of its new route between Bogotá and Chicago this Tuesday, which will begin operations on October 27.

This, the airline highlighted, marks its return after five years, as the last period it operated to Chicago O’Hare from the Colombian capital was between 2018 and 2019.

With Chicago, Avianca will operate 13 destinations in the United States, following Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Washington, Houston, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Ontario, and San Francisco.

“At Avianca, we continue to bet on providing more connectivity and access to our customers to new destinations worldwide. After landing in Montreal and Paris this year, we now announce the start of operations for the Bogotá-Chicago route, which consolidates an interesting network that allows our travelers to connect with more than 10 destinations in the United States and also facilitates the arrival of new visitors to Colombia and the Americas. Without a doubt, we return to Chicago with a renewed proposal that will allow more people to fly safely, on time, and with their luggage,” said David Alemán, Avianca’s Sales Director for Colombia and South America.

For her part, Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, said that this route “boosts tourism in the country and strengthens our air connectivity with the United States, our main source market for travelers. As a leading destination in South America for American visitors, Colombia continues to offer meaningful and sustainable experiences. This route solidifies our position as a key player in the hemisphere’s air connectivity.”

Flight AV262 will depart from Bogotá daily at 7:00 am to arrive in Chicago at 1:15 pm. The return flight, AV263, will be at 2:35 pm, landing at El Dorado airport at 8:25 pm. All times are local. The flights will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.
