Aviation Capital Group, a U.S.-based leasing company and subsidiary of Tokyo Century Corporation, confirmed an order for 35 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which will be delivered between 2027 and 2031.

The order consists of 16 Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 19 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft, which will be added to the 47 Boeing aircraft Aviation Capital Group already has pending delivery.

According to the company, this acquisition is based on the goal of transforming its aircraft portfolio. In this regard, the 737 MAX family “offers a longer range, 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and a 50% smaller noise footprint than the airplanes it replaces..”

“Demand for aircraft operating leases is expected to further increase due to growing passenger traffic, which is driven by population and income growth in emerging and developing countries, together with the needs of airlines to replace their aircraft with next-generation aircraft,” added Tokyio Century Corporation in a statement.

“Taking these market trends into account, we expect continued growth of short to mid-haul traffic resulting in strong demand toward narrow-body aircraft that will continue during, and even after, the delivery of the ordered aircraft,” they concluded.

Aviation Capital Group’s aircraft portfolio comprises more than 360 aircraft from the A220, A320, A320neo, A330, A350, 737, 737 MAX, 757, 777, and 787 families, with an average age of 6.2 years. 97% of its fleet consists of narrow-body aircraft.
