Frontier Airlines has expanded its offerings in the Caribbean by launching service to Trinidad and Tobago, making it the fourth U.S. airline to operate in this Caribbean nation. The low-cost carrier has introduced a nonstop service between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Port of Spain, increasing its network in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean to 12 destinations.
The inaugural flight, F9281, was operated by an Airbus A320neo with registration N394FR. The flight departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport at 14:00 local time and arrived at Piarco International Airport at 15:34, completing the journey in one hour and 34 minutes.
Other U.S. airlines serving Trinidad and Tobago include American Airlines from Miami, JetBlue from New York JFK, and United Airlines from Houston-Intercontinental.
Frontier Airlines now offers service to several destinations in the region, including Antigua and Barbuda, Guatemala, Nassau (Bahamas), El Salvador, Belize, Kingston (Jamaica), Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Cancun (Mexico), Liberia/Guanacaste (Costa Rica), Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands), Cabo San Lucas (Mexico), Montego Bay (Jamaica), San Jose (Costa Rica), San Juan de Puerto Rico, and Saint Maarten.
