SKY Airline and Air France-KLM have signed an interline agreement that will allow transatlantic passengers of the European airlines to connect with more than 30 destinations in the ultra low-cost carrier’s Latin American network with a single ticket.
The destinations covered by the agreement in Chile are Antofagasta, Arica, Balmaceda, Calama, Castro, Concepción, Copiapó, Iquique, La Serena, Osorno, Punta Arenas, Puerto Montt, Puerto Natales, Temuco, and Valdivia.
In Peru, the destinations include Cusco, Arequipa, Trujillo, Juliaca, Piura, Ayacucho, Tumbes, Iquitos, Tarapoto, Pucallpa, and Jauja.
It also includes other destinations in SKY’s international network such as Mendoza, Bariloche, and Montevideo.
The agreement will take effect at the end of July, when both Air France and KLM publish SKY flights in their systems.
“We are pleased to announce a new interline agreement with one of the largest and most prestigious airline groups in Europe. We trust that it will strengthen SKY’s presence in the European market by making our robust network in Latin America available, which will connect various points in Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil with Air France and KLM’s transatlantic flights, creating an offer that provides many more travel possibilities through the combination of the three companies’ networks,” said Julio Solar, Strategy, Network, and Alliances Manager of SKY.
In a second phase, the agreement will enable the option for passengers to complete a single check-in for the entire journey at the departure airport, where they can also tag their luggage to the final destination.
