Japan Airlines season will increase its flights on several international routes in Asia-Pacific and Australia for the 2024/2025 season, plus offer first-class seating on select services to Hawaii. In the domestic market, the carrier will modify the scheduling of some routes.
Japan Airlines Increase in international flights
- Tokyo Narita – Jakarta: increase from 11 to 13 weekly flights.
- Tokyo Narita – Bangalore: increase from 3 to 5 flights per week
- Tokyo Narita – Melbourne: increase from 3 to 6 flights per week
- Tokyo Narita – Shanghai Pudong: 7 weekly flights (resumption)
- Tokyo Narita – Taipei Taoyuan: 14 weekly flights (seasonal increase continues)
- Tokyo Narita – Guam: increase from 5 to 7 flights per week
- Osaka Kansai – Shanghai: increase from 3 to 7 flights per week
- Nagoya – Shanghai Pudong: increase from 5 to 7 flights per week
- Nagoya – Taipei Taoyuan: 5 weekly flights (seasonal service)

Japan Airlines’ A350-1000 to fly to Europe for the first time
By autumn 2024, the Airbus A350-1000 will be introduced on the Tokyo Haneda – London Heathrow route (JL 43/JL 44). This aircraft will operate two daily flights to New York-JFK and daily flights to Dallas/Fort Worth starting August 23.
Domestic market
- Starting January 7, the Osaka Itami – Miyazaki route increases from 5 to 6 daily flights for a limited period.
- Flights on routes from Kagoshima to remote islands are to be increased during peak periods.
- Services from Sapporo to Kushiro, Hakodate and Akita will be reduced from December 1 to February 28 to optimize responsiveness to weather irregularities.
