United Airlines strengthens its presence in Africa by increasing its flights between Washington-Dulles and Lagos, Nigeria for the 2024/2025 winter season. Service will continue on an overnight schedule, allowing seamless connections to multiple destinations in the Americas.
From December 4, 2024 through February 14, 2025, the Washington-Lagos route will increase from 3 to 7 flights per week. United began operations in Nigeria with the Houston-Lagos route using Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft and the service operated between 2010 and 2016, then resumed in 2021 with the Washington-Lagos nonstop connection with three weekly flights.

- Flight UA 612: IAD 18:15 – LOS 09:55+1 daily flights.
- Flight UA 613: LOS 23:55 – IAD 06:10+1 daily flights.
The route is operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a seating capacity of 243 seats in three classes: 28 Business Class, 21 Premium Economy, 36 Economy Plus and 158 Economy.

- Newark-Cape Town: three weekly flights on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

- Washington-Accra: daily flights on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
- Washington-Cape Town: three weekly flights on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
