Air France is changing its East Asia network: as of October 25, 2024, the carrier is suspending its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tokyo-Narita (AF246/AF245) operated on Boeing 777-300ER three times a week. The French airline’s operations to the Japanese capital will now be consolidated at Haneda Airport, where it has 15 weekly flights scheduled.
Air France joins Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways in operating exclusively between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tokyo-Haneda. Narita Airport loses its only non-stop connection to France. On the other hand, its sister airline KLM continues to operate to Tokyo-Narita from Amsterdam.
The reason for the suspension of this service is due to the cessation of operations of the Noumea-Tokyo Narita route by Aircalin, as it has a partnership with Air France to connect New Caledonia with continental Europe, customers who have a reservation between Noumea and Paris will be re-booked on flights with a stopover in Singapore (Air France operates Paris-Singapore and Aircalin operates Noumea-Singapore).
