Air Greenland announces an expansion of its 2025 summer flight schedule with new routes connecting Nuuk to Aalborg and Billund. The updates coincide with the opening of the 2200-meter runway at Nuuk International Airport, enabling greater connectivity between Greenland and Denmark.
Starting June 18, 2025, Air Greenland will introduce a weekly direct flight between Nuuk and Aalborg until August 27. Additionally, an extra weekly departure between Nuuk and Billund, with a stopover in Keflavik, will be available from March 18 to October 23, 2025.
According to Air Greenland CEO, Jacob Nitter Sørensen, the new direct route to Aalborg responds to increased customer demand. «We flew Aalborg-Kangerlussuaq via Copenhagen, and our analyses show good interest. However, many customers requested a direct connection, which is now possible with Nuuk’s airport expansion.»
The increased frequency on the Nuuk-Billund route, including a stop in Keflavik, also opens up opportunities for travelers between Greenland, North America, and Iceland. Air Greenland will collaborate with Icelandair to sell seats on the Keflavik-Billund leg.
Jettime’s Boeing 737-800 will operate the new routes and be available for booking next week.
