As part of its transatlantic expansion for the 2025 summer season, American Airlines has scheduled non-stop flights between Chicago and Madrid, marking the company’s eighth European service from O’Hare International Airport.
Its transatlantic partner Iberia also has daily flights between Chicago and Madrid on Airbus A330-330s, the service to the Spanish capital is complemented by its operations to Barcelona. In total American will offer more than 3,000 seats weekly between O’Hare International Airport and Spain.
American Airlines will be the only US airline to fly between Chicago and Madrid. In addition, Madrid is a hub for Iberia, American’s partner in the Oneworld alliance, which also allows access to other European destinations through a connection.
Flight Schedule
Starts March 30, 2025.
- Chicago – Madrid Flight AA 126 ORD 22:15 – MAD 13:20+1 daily flights.
- Madrid – Chicago Flight AA 125 MAD 16:35 – ORD 18:50 daily flights.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 234 seats: 20 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy, 48 Main Cabin Extra and 138 in Economy.
From O’Hare International Airport, American Airlines also has European services to London-Heathrow, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Rome-Fiumicino, Dublin, Barcelona, Venice and Athens.
For next summer, there will be new routes such as Miami-Rome, Charlotte-Athens, Philadelphia-Edinburgh and Philadelphia-Milan.
