American Airlines and JetSMART have expanded their partnership, allowing passengers to earn AAdvantage miles on all JetSMART flights across South America. According to American Airlines, this integration is part of their loyalty program, offering more benefits to customers flying within the region. Starting September 24, JetSMART customers will be able to accumulate AAdvantage miles on both domestic and international flights. Later this year, AAdvantage members will also be able to redeem miles for flights operated by JetSMART.
“We are excited to welcome JetSMART and its customers to the AAdvantage® program, the most valuable travel rewards program,” said Scott Chandler, Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and Loyalty at American Airlines. “This partnership offers customers more low fares and more travel options throughout South America.”
Since 2023, American Airlines and JetSMART have been operating codeshare flights between the U.S. and Chile, recently expanding the partnership to include routes in Peru and Argentina. According to Estuardo Ortiz, CEO of JetSMART, “This alliance strengthens our position as the fastest-growing airline in South America, allowing us to bring air travel to every corner of the continent. Now our customers can connect to American’s global network, helping us reach our goal of 100 million passengers and 100 aircraft by 2028.”
