Vietnam Airlines expands its European network with a new non-stop service between Hanoi and Milan-Malpensa. Italy is the fourth European country where the airline provides services complementing its operation in the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
An event held by the Embassy of Vietnam in Italy in 2023 highlighted the implementation of a non-stop service between Italy and Vietnam, intending to promote the development of relations between the two countries.
Last year, Vietnam welcomed the arrival of 57,054 Italian tourists, representing 80% of the arrivals before the pandemic. This new connection will significantly help the recovery of travel between Vietnam and Europe.
Flight schedule between Hanoi (HAN) and Milan-Malpensa (MXP)
Starts on July 1, 2025.
- Flight VN 72: HAN 01:00 – MXP 07:40 Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Flight VN 73: MXP 12:30 – HAN 04:30+1 Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 274 seats in three classes: 28 Business Class, 35 Premium Economy, and 211 in Economy. The airline offers the only non-stop connection between Vietnam and Italy. This new service connects destinations such as Ho Chi Minh City, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Tokyo, Seoul, Pusan, Osaka, Singapore and Taipei.
Vietnam Airlines’ route network connects Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Paris-Charles de Gaulle, London-Heathrow, and Frankfurt and from October 2024 there will be flights to Munich, the airline is considering new connections to Zurich, Copenhagen and Amsterdam, these last two destinations are hubs of Skyteam partner airlines, an alliance where Vietnam Airlines is a member.
The airline’s fleet consists of one Airbus A320neo, 20 A321ceo, 42 A321neo, 14 A350-900, 11 Boeing 787-9 and five 787-10s. It also expects to take delivery of one 787-10 and three Airbus A320neos this year.
