Air Serbia is expanding its network in Asia by adding a third service in China with a twice-weekly non-stop flight between Belgrade and Shanghai-Pudong. The airline inaugurated operations in Guangzhou two weeks ago, competing in this segment with China Southern Airlines.

The visa exemption for travelers will boost the tourism sector between the two countries, and the service will contribute to strengthening business, economic, and cultural ties between Serbia and China. The airline also has nonstop flights to Tianjin in China, and its long-haul network also has services to Chicago O’Hare and New York-JFK.

Air Serbia’s flights to China do not travel through Russian airspace, avoiding increased operating costs due to changes in route path and longer flight times. Several European airlines have suspended their flights to Mainland China, such as Lufthansa, which canceled its service between Frankfurt and Beijing-Capital; British Airways, which canceled the route between London-Heathrow and Beijing-Daxing; and Virgin Atlantic, which ceased operations between London-Heathrow and Shanghai-Pudong.

Flight schedule between Belgrade (BEG) and Shanghai (PVG)

    Starts January 11, 2025.

    • Flight JU986: BEG 06:50 – PVG 23:30 Tuesday and Saturday.
    • Flight JU987: PVG 01:30 – BEG 07:20 Wednesday and Sunday.

The route will be operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
