Delta Air Lines is set to operate transpacific flights from Salt Lake City Airport with a non-stop service to Seoul-Incheon: the new flight will connect SLC with the main hub of Korean Air, its Joint Venture partner.
The service between Salt Lake City and Seoul-Incheon will begin on June 12, 2024, with daily flights, offering connections to key destinations throughout Asia. The route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft with Delta One Suites, Delta Premium, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin cabins. Customers will enjoy the amenities at the recently modernized terminal at Salt Lake City Airport and the spacious Delta Sky Club.
“As Salt Lake City continues to grow as a vital hub for Delta, our strong joint venture with Korean Air allows us to offer unmatched connectivity between the U.S. and Asia, leveraging strong hubs on both sides. This ensures that customers, including those within the U.S., have access not only to Seoul, but to key destinations throughout Asia,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning.
This new service is Delta’s fifth route from the U.S. to Seoul-Incheon, complementing operations from Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Seattle Tacoma. Delta, in conjunction with Korean Air, provides flights from Seoul-Incheon to 14 U.S. destinations, boosting trans-Pacific connectivity.
Delta is the primary carrier at Salt Lake City Airport, where it operates more flights than all other airlines combined. Delta’s schedule offers 250 daily peak-period flights to more than 90 destinations worldwide, including service to international cities such as Amsterdam, London, Paris, and Mexico City, among others.
Delta in Salt Lake City is boosting its ongoing investments in airport infrastructure. In 2020, the airline celebrated the opening of the 900,000-square-foot Concourse A, which features 50 Delta gates and 19 new restaurants and shops. By 2027, more gates will be added, ensuring the hub continues to be a domestic and international gateway.
“As we open this new gateway to Asia, I am excited to expand Utah’s global reach and foster new cultural and business partnerships. Delta’s commitment to our state underscores Utah’s growing role on the world stage. It was a pleasure to meet with Chairman Yoon Suk Yeol and discuss how this new route will deepen connections between Utah and Korea,” said Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox.
