At 7:55 AM this Tuesday (1), a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 with registration EI-IGI from Ryanair, operating flight FR 846 between Barcelona El Prat and Milan-Bergamo, suffered the bursting of four tires on the main landing gear after a «hard landing.»
The administration of the Milan-Bergamo Airport reported that 161 passengers were on board the 737 MAX, but none of them were injured, as the damage to the tires did not affect the landing maneuver. The aircraft had taken off from Barcelona-El Prat at 6:42 AM.
After the intervention of the Fire and Rescue Service to secure the aircraft, all passengers were disembarked and taken to the terminal.
For this Tuesday, the Milan-Bergamo Airport had nearly 300 regular flights scheduled between arrivals and departures. This is one of Ryanair’s main bases, where the ultra low-cost carrier is responsible for about 80% of the flights and seats offered.
