Air Canada Cargo transported more than 143,000 kilograms of flowers from South America to Europe in just one month. This achievement demonstrates the airline’s ability to handle large volumes of fragile cargo, such as perishable goods, with high standards of efficiency and reliability.
The flower transport was carried out through on-demand flights, a service modality that allows Air Canada Cargo to adapt to the specific needs of its customers. This flexibility, essential for sectors like floriculture, is also crucial for goods that require careful handling and minimal transport times.
Air Canada Cargo operates these services with a specialized fleet, including Boeing 767F aircraft, which offer a capacity of 57 tons and 483 m³, along with compartments designed to maintain precise temperature control. This technology ensures that products like flowers arrive fresh and in optimal condition at their destinations.
The company highlights that, although its services are highly customized, routes and processing times are subject to regulatory and operational approvals. However, its specialized team is available 24/7 to assess the feasibility of each request.
The success of the flower transport coincides with the recent expansion of Air Canada Cargo’s transatlantic operations. Among the updates, the airline increased its weekly flights between Toronto Pearson and Madrid-Barajas from two to three and added an extra frequency on its domestic route between Toronto and Vancouver.
Additionally, Air Canada Cargo offers exclusive cargo services to major destinations in North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America, such as Atlanta, Bogotá, Lima, Mexico City-Santa Lucía, and Punta Cana. This global reach reinforces its position as the largest air cargo operator in Canada and highlights its ability to connect key markets for sensitive and high-value products.
