El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, recently recognized as the best airport in South America for the third consecutive year by Skytrax, continues to innovate to enhance the passenger experience. As part of this strategy, and in partnership with the mental health and wellness platform Cuéntame, the airport has launched the campaign “Your Emotions Are Calling”, which includes the installation of emotional support cabins.

These cabins, located in the domestic departures dock D and international departures dock B, are designed to help travelers manage emotions such as stress, fear of flying, and anxiety. Through audiovisual content and practical exercises, such as breathing techniques, the cabins provide useful tools to cope with emotional challenges that may arise during travel.

The importance of this initiative aligns with a regional and global context where mental health issues are increasingly relevant. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 2.5% of the world’s population suffers from aerophobia. Natalí Leal, General Manager of OPAIN, emphasized that “this will be a key resource in building the airport as a space of calm and respect for everyone, travelers and the airport community.”

The launch of these emotional wellness cabins adds to the multiple initiatives that have positioned El Dorado as a leader in the region. The recent Skytrax distinction, which evaluates passenger experiences across more than 550 airports worldwide, reinforces El Dorado’s reputation as a benchmark for service quality.

Additionally, the airport was recognized for the fourth time as having the best customer service team in South America. Innovations supporting these achievements include the Sunflower Program, aimed at people with invisible disabilities, and the virtual assistant DoraBot, which streamlines processes for travelers. These actions, along with the emotional support cabins, highlight positive activities such as inclusion, accessibility, and holistic well-being.

With over 40 million passengers transiting annually, El Dorado aims to be more than a transit point: a space that creates memorable experiences. “This recognition drives us to continue working every day to improve the travel experience for all passengers. Being the best in South America reflects our commitment to the entire airport community and Colombians,” said Natalí Leal.

El Dorado Airport invites its passengers to take advantage of these new spaces, designed to foster a more peaceful and pleasant travel experience.
