The National Civil Aviation Administration of Argentina (ANAC) presented the monthly operations report for October 2024, and in this article, we summarize the ten international routes with the highest occupancy during the tenth month of the year.
During October 2024, airports across Argentina recorded a total of 1.09 million passengers on international flights, representing an increase of 6.3% compared to the previous year. A total of 7,068 international flights were carried out in October, surpassing the count for the same month in 2023 by 4.1%.
So far in 2024, nearly 11 million passengers have taken international flights, exceeding the same period in 2023 by 13.4%. Up to October, 73,218 international flights were recorded, excluding cargo-only flights, representing a 12.1% increase in operations compared to January through October 2023.
Rank No. 10: Córdoba – Lima
The route connecting Córdoba with Lima, Peru, takes the tenth spot on the list, with a total of 64 flights in the month and an 86% load factor. This service is exclusively operated by LATAM Airlines, using Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft depending on demand.
Rank No. 9: Ezeiza – Atlanta
This route ranks ninth, with a total of 61 flights in October and an 87% load factor. The service is operated by Delta Air Lines, offering seats under codeshare with Aerolíneas Argentinas and other SkyTeam member airlines. For most of October, it was operated with Boeing 767-400 aircraft, switching to Airbus A330-900 starting October 28.
Rank No. 8: Ezeiza – Bogotá
The eighth position goes to the route connecting Ezeiza with Bogotá, registering a total of 195 flights with an 87% load factor. The service is operated by Avianca, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A320neo aircraft, and by GOL, with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The service by Aerolíneas Argentinas operating from Jorge Newbery Airport is excluded.
Rank No. 7: Ezeiza – New York
The route between Ezeiza and New York ranks seventh, with a total of 65 flights in October and a 90% load factor. For most of October, American Airlines operated a daily flight with Boeing 777-200 aircraft, and starting October 27, Delta Air Lines joined with a daily flight using Airbus A330-900 aircraft.
Rank No. 6: Ezeiza – Miami
The connection between Ezeiza and Miami ranks sixth, with a total of 222 flights and a 91% load factor. Aerolíneas Argentinas operates two daily flights with Airbus A330-200 aircraft, while American Airlines offers two daily flights with Boeing 777-200 aircraft, adding a third flight with the same model at the end of the month.
Rank No. 5: Ezeiza – Madrid
In fifth place is one of the routes with the highest number of flights during the month: a total of 327 operations and a 92% load factor. In October, this route was operated by four airlines: Iberia, with three weekly flights; Aerolíneas Argentinas, with ten weekly flights; and Air Europa, with seven weekly flights.
Rank No. 4: Ezeiza – Panama
The fourth spot is taken by the route exclusively operated by Copa Airlines, using Boeing 737 MAX 9 and 737-800 aircraft, offering up to five daily flights. In total, 275 flights with a 92% load factor were recorded.
Rank No. 3: Ezeiza – Houston
The third position in the ranking belongs to the connection between Ezeiza and Houston, operated by United Airlines. In October, a total of 63 flights with a 95% load factor were recorded. The U.S. airline offers one daily flight with Boeing 777-200 aircraft, plus three additional weekly flights with the same model.
Rank No. 2: Córdoba – Panama
The second position is occupied by a route departing from the country’s interior: Córdoba – Panama, exclusively operated by Copa Airlines. In October, 104 flights with a 96% load factor were recorded. The airline schedules two daily flights with Boeing 737-800 aircraft to the capital of Córdoba.
Rank No. 1: Rosario – Panama
The top spot goes to another route departing from the interior of the country, specifically from the city of Rosario. The service, exclusively operated by Copa Airlines, features a daily flight using Boeing 737-800, 737 MAX 8, or 737 MAX 9 aircraft. In October, this route recorded a total of 60 flights with a 98% load factor.
