After several days of negotiations, officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and the Government of Chile reached a full agreement that ends the indefinite slowdown of activities at national airports. This progress rules out any mobilization that could have affected the operability of the airport system.
The agreement includes a universal and permanent bonus aimed at all DGAC workers, including air traffic controllers, airport security personnel, meteorologists, instrument technicians, administrative staff, and auxiliaries. According to the workers, this bonus represents one of the most significant demands of the union. «This is a universal benefit that recognizes the work of the institution’s staff» stated employee representatives.Javier Villarroel, national president of the National Association of DGAC Employees, confirmed that the agreement was signed by the three employee associations, benefiting the entire aeronautical community. However, details about the exact amount of the bonus have not been disclosed.Operations secured
