Accidente DAP Cessna 404 Titán
At Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport in Punta Arenas, a regional airline DAP aircraft (Cessna 404 Titan CC-AEH) en route to Porvenir faced an aerial emergency when it failed to fully deploy its landing gear. This technical issue prompted the crew to activate the established safety protocols for such situations.
As a preventive measure, the aircraft proceeded to burn fuel over an unpopulated area, a common practice to reduce weight before a possible emergency landing. Simultaneously, firefighters and ambulances were deployed to the airport to ensure a swift response if needed.
Fortunately, the emergency concluded successfully as the aircraft landed without incident, and both the 7 passengers and the crew are safe.
The company issued a statement detailing the situation:»Regarding the Cessna aircraft incident, DAP communicates the following:

– At 8:45 a.m. today, Wednesday, November 20, a DAP Cessna aircraft with 7 passengers on board experienced a failure in its front landing gear.

– Emergency protocols were immediately activated.

– The aircraft landed at 9:41 a.m. at Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport, with the seven passengers and the pilot disembarking without issues.

– The incident will be subject to an internal investigation and by the aviation authority DGAC.»
