GOL Linhas Aéreas will increase its operations to meet the high demand for flights between Brazil and Argentina, consolidating its position in its main international market. These actions are framed both in a specific context, such as the final of the Copa Libertadores to be held in Buenos Aires, and in a long-term strategy that includes the reactivation of key routes and the expansion of its international network.
Between November 26 and December 3, GOL will operate 26 additional flights between Brazil and Buenos Aires, adding to its 157 regular operations, for a total of 180 flights and 31,500 available seats. This reinforcement responds to the high demand generated by the final of the Copa Libertadores, which will feature the Brazilian teams Atlético Mineiro and Botafogo on November 30 in the Argentine capital. In addition to commercial flights, GOL will be responsible for the chartering of the flights for both finalist teams. Atlético Mineiro will depart from Confins Airport (CNF), while Botafogo will travel from Guarulhos (GRU).
Starting January 7, 2025, GOL will reactivate its route between Brasilia and Buenos Aires (Ezeiza), with five weekly flights. This new service will connect the Brazilian capital with Argentina and offer quick connections to destinations such as Manaus, Belém, Salvador, Fortaleza, among others. Additionally, Argentine passengers can use Brasilia’s hub as a gateway to international destinations such as Miami, Orlando, and Cancun.
GOL will also expand its flights from Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) to Buenos Aires, with five additional weekly frequencies starting on the same date, consolidating its offering on the Brazil-Argentina routes.
These initiatives aim not only to meet the demand generated by specific events, such as the South American final, but also form part of GOL’s broader strategy to strengthen connectivity between Brazil and Argentina. According to Celso Sabino, Brazil’s Minister of Tourism, the new route from Brasilia contributes to attracting international tourists, highlighting Brazil’s attractions. Meanwhile, Silvio Costa Filho, Minister of Ports and Airports, emphasized the importance of increasing connectivity between the two countries to generate employment and growth in the tourism sector.
GOL’s flights to Argentina will be operated with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, configured for 176 passengers on international routes. Additionally, the airline offers the GOL Premium Economy class, which includes more space, reclining seats, enhanced services, and benefits such as extra miles accumulation and two free checked baggage items. With a summer season that promises to be a record, GOL has scheduled over 2,800 flights between Brazil and Argentina.
