GOL Linhas Aéreas launched its new international destination in Central America with the inaugural flight to San José, Costa Rica from Sao Paulo/Guarulhos, reinforcing its position as the Brazilian airline with the most direct flights to the Caribbean.
Before boarding, customers were greeted with a special message: “GOL is the company with the most direct flights from Brazil to the Caribbean, and today we are delighted to inaugurate a new route. Our new destination, San José, in Costa Rica, connects you with incredible landscapes. Providing more travel opportunities is what makes us aim high. We thank you for being part of this important day and wish you an excellent journey.” Each passenger received a themed eco-bag and toiletry bag, along with a personal hygiene kit.
The G3-7718 flight, operated with the Boeing 737 MAX registered as PR-XMR, took off from Guarulhos at 1:55 PM yesterday, Tuesday (12), landing at 6:25 PM at Juan Santamaría International Airport. Before departure, an airport ceremony included speeches from GOL authorities and Costa Rican tourism representatives. Passengers received themed gifts and participated in an onboard celebration, which included a toast with sparkling wine and a sampling of Caribe chocolates from the brand Garoto, as reported by our Brazilian partner media, AEROIN.
“With San José, GOL now serves 13 international destinations across the Americas and, with optimism, will continue to strengthen its presence abroad. The incorporation of Costa Rica into our air network fills us with pride and reaffirms the company’s focus on continuous international expansion. San José is an unprecedented and exclusive destination, operated with direct flights from Brazil solely by GOL. The goal is to increasingly bring our peoples closer and contribute to the development of tourism and business throughout the region,» said Rafael Araújo, GOL’s Director of Network Planning.
