GOL Returns to Maringá: Boeing 737-800 Flights Resume Service

GOL Linhas Aéreas announces the resumption of its operations on the route connecting the capital of Paraná, Curitiba, with the state’s third-largest city, Maringá. Starting December 21, the airline will offer one weekly flight, on Saturdays, increasing to three weekly departures as of February 3, 2025.

The last time the company operated flights between Afonso Pena International Airport in São José dos Pinhais and Silvio Name Junior Regional Airport in Maringá was in early 2020, before the suspension of operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Aeroin.

The flight from Curitiba to Maringá is scheduled to depart at 10:00 PM, arriving at 11:05 PM. The return flight is set to leave Maringá Airport at 11:45 PM, landing in Curitiba at 12:40 AM.

Operated with Boeing 737-800

The routes will be operated by GOL using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a capacity for 186 passengers.

According to GOL, the connection between the capital Curitiba and Maringá is of great importance for both tourism and the economy. Maringá, known for its natural attractions such as Ingá Park and Japan Park, attracts many tourists seeking leisure and contact with nature.

Additionally, the city stands out as a significant economic hub, with a strong presence in agriculture, particularly in the production of soybeans, corn, and wheat, as well as in industry, with factories producing food, beverages, and wood products.

In addition to GOL’s return, the route is currently served by Azul Linhas Aéreas, with two daily flights using ATR 72-600 aircraft.
